'I’m keeping her, not just fostering': After finding a cat crying at work on a freezing night, these pawrents brought her home to warmth, love, and a new beginning

After a full year without any visits from the CDS, these dedicated pawrents suddenly found themselves welcoming three boys and then one little girl who completely stole their hearts. It all started when a call came from the husband's work on the first cold night of the year. Through the phone came the sound of desperate meows. When they arrived, she was found huddled near the EV charger batteries, tucked between the woods and the highway, small, scared, and searching for someone to notice her.

At first, the plan was to find someone else who could help, but the moment she was lifted up, she went still and quiet, melting completely in trust. On the drive home, she chirped softly and made tiny air biscuits, as if she already knew she was safe.

Now she has warmth, good food, and loving arms to curl into. After caring for so many strays, this little one feels especially meant to be. She has found her furmily, and they found a new piece of joy.

    A full year of no new kittens and within 2 months I get 3 boys (2 solid black and 1 orange) and then this girl. Bonus pictures of Boy #7 "Orangey" near the end who showed up the month before, and the last one who I woke up to take a picture is boy #6 "Bobby"

    Last weekend my husband called about a cat dropped at his work and I could hear her yowling in the background, just SCREAMING her head off. When I got there I found her huddling next to the batteries for the EV chargers on the first cold night of the year, in between dense woods and 1-20.

    I was going to call someone else but then I picked her up and she went completely silent and rag- dolled into my arms. The entire way home she lay on her back making happy chirps and air biscuits so.....

    I'm keeping her, not just fostering. That's been the plan with the strays (and the neighbors cats I guess I feed now) but girl #14 was also mama #5 and this little one will never have to worry about that.

    Part of me hopes that whoever left her there didn't really mean to and just couldn't get back, but since my Husband works there we'd know if someone came looking for it. I so hope anywhere, it's not like he's there all the time.
